1871 Launches Convergence: Tech Policy Institute (C:TPI) – New Policy Arm to Secure the Post-Quantum Internet
CHICAGO, IL — 1871, the world's leading university-affiliated tech incubator, today announced the launch of Convergence: Tech Policy Institute (C:TPI), its flagship policy think tank dedicated to addressing the critical collisions created by the rapid convergence of artificial intelligence, blockchain, and quantum computing.
Led by Executive Director Arry Yu, C:TPI will deliver actionable policy frameworks through the Policy Convergence Index and the Chicago Accord to safeguard critical infrastructure and unlock trillions in economic value.
"1871 is not just building great companies. We are now shaping the policy frameworks that allow them to scale and succeed globally. C:TPI positions Chicago and Illinois as a global leader in responsible technology convergence."
"The convergence of AI, blockchain, and quantum is accelerating faster than policy can respond. We exist to close that dangerous gap with clear, coherent, and human-centered safeguards for the post-quantum era."
The Convergence Policy Summit on May 27, 2026 at Hyde Park Labs in Chicago will mark the official launch of C:TPI with a preview of the Chicago Accord. The event is expected to draw over 100 high-profile attendees from government, industry, academia, and global institutions.
Founding sponsorship opportunities are limited. Interested organizations should contact Arry Yu at arry@convergencetpi.org.
